The Extra Special Smoothie!

One of the best and easiest ways to consume fruits and veggies is to mix them in a smoothie. One smoothie can simply be one of the main meals for the day giving you a daily dose of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. In addition to this, smoothies are fulfilling and, because the come in a liquid form, they are also easy to digest thus give your digestive system kind of a little rest. Smoothies are for sure one of the best breakfasts ever. What a great way to start your day- with fresh, delicious and guilty free smoothie!

I had loved smoothies for ages, but, since I have started working with ProViotic, I learnt that there are a lot of benefits of adding some probiotics to your smoothies. It came out that no matter how hard you try to wash your fruits and veggies in the end there are still some bacteria left (and not only friendly ones). You consume these bacteria together with your fruits and veggies and the former can cause some imbalance of your inner micro flora. Unfortunately, we can do nothing…. or almost nothing :). By adding probiotics to your freshly made smoothie, the good probiotic bacteria will inhibit the pathogen bacteria that are in the liquid and at the end you will have only your delicious smoothie plus some probiotic bacteria which is always a good thing to have:) . The same thing applies also for juices or if you are just consuming fresh fruits and veggies. But at the end of the day, smoothies are healthy, cheap, easy to make and consume drinks with endless benefits for your body.

The best thing about smoothies is you can create whatever you want. There are no particular recipes, no right or wrong way. Just put in the blender some of your favorite fresh fruits, veggies, you may add some chia seeds, oats, then some milk or water and blend, blend, blend :)!

However, in some of our next blog posts I am going to share with you some of my favorite smoothie recipes, just in case you need some ideas or inspiration.

Be healthy, happy and make yourself a smoothie!
